SUMMARY:MIGRATION @ INTO FILM FESTIVAL
DESCRIPTION:INTO FILM FESTIVAL: MIGRATION\nCert U | 2022 | Dir. Benjamin Renner\, Guylo Homsy| Animation | USA | 79 mins \n \nDucks are known to migrate to warmer climates when their habitat grows cooler\, but so far\, this has not been the case for the Mallard family. While dad Mack is content to keep his family safe paddling around their New England pond forever\, mum Pam is eager to shake things up and show their kids – teen son Dax and duckling daughter Gwen – the whole wide world. They convince Mack to take to the skies and venture South for the winter\, but their well-laid plans quickly go awry. Rather than the lush relaxing sands of the Caribbean\, they find themselves in the hustle and bustle of a major metropolis and must team up with a streetwise pigeon\, Chump\, if they want to survive the concrete jungle. From the makers of the Despicable Me and The Secret Life of Pets franchises\, this whirlwind animation celebrates adventure\, family\, and wellbeing. \nBooking through Into Film Festival: https://www.intofilm.org/events/festival/2447.

SUMMARY:MARCEL THE SHELL WITH SHOES ON @ INTO FILM FESTIVAL
DESCRIPTION:INTO FILM FESTIVAL: MARCEL THE SHELL WITH SHOES ON\nCert PG | 2022 | Dir. Dean Fleischer-Camp| Family Film | USA | 90 mins \n \nUpon temporarily moving into an Airbnb\, Dean\, a documentary filmmaker\, is surprised to discover Marcel amongst all the clutter. Marcel is a 1-inch tall shell who lives alone with his elderly grandma (also a shell) after being separated from the rest of his family years previously during an unknown event. Upon learning about this\, Dean begins to film a documentary in the hopes that Marcel\, with his sweet nature and offbeat philosophies on life\, can go viral and be reunited with his family. Surprisingly poignant\, persistently adorable and built around themes of family\, friendship and identity\, this is an eccentric comedy\, part live-action and part animation\, that will appeal to a wide variety of ages. \nBooking through Into Film Festival: https://www.intofilm.org/events/festival/2447.

SUMMARY:SFW22: Into Film - Sing 2
DESCRIPTION:Sing 2 (2021)\nFriday 18 November 2022 at 10:00am\nDir. Garth Jennings | USA| 1hr 50m | U \nWe are very excited that SFW and IntoFilm Festival are coming together again in 2022 to offer school groups the opportunity to enjoy fabulous film\, and we will once again be screening at MAST – Mayflower Studios on Guildhall Square in Southampton. \nThe Into Film Festival is a free\, annual\, nationwide celebration of film & education for 5-19 year olds.  It helps educators bring learning to life for 5-19 year olds across the UK by inspiring young people to watch\, understand and make film in new and creative ways. \nWe are offering 2 films this year\, Clifford the Big Red Dog (2021)\, with an age guide of 7-11 and Sing 2 (2021) with an age guide of 5-11. \nPlease note that booking for this event is through IntoFilm only. \n \nHaving previously saved his local theatre through a hugely popular singing competition\, koala bear and music manager Buster Moon has his sights set on an even bigger musical extravaganza in the bustling Las-Vegas like city of Red Shore. Along with his friends and performers – including the singing pigs Rosita and Gunter\, porcupine rocker Ash and shy Gorilla Tommy – Buster heads to the city to discover that the only way the show will go on is if he can convince reclusive rockstar-lion Clay Calloway to come out of retirement to be part of the show. However\, since Clay’s wife passed away\, he is reluctant to ever go back onto the stage again. Full of recognizable musical numbers and a slapstick sensibility\, Sing 2 also explores the importance of music in our lives as more than just a form of entertainment. \nTaking place from 8-25 November\, the Into Film Festival helps educators bring learning to life for 5-19 year olds across the UK by inspiring young people to watch\, understand and make film in new and creative ways. \nPlaces will be offered for free on a first-come\, first-served basis\, with attendance this year limited to one school group per event to help us to ensure the safety of all attendees and allow us to maximise the impact on the largest possible audience of children and young people across the UK. \nInto Film supports teachers and educators to achieve a wide range of effective learning outcomes in their use of film. Their programme includes the Into Film+ film streaming platform\, a network of extra-curricular Into Film Clubs\, resources for use in clubs or the classroom\, face-to-face and online training opportunities\, an annual cinema-based film festival and the prestigious Into Film Awards.
