We are very excited that SFW and Into Film Festival are coming together again in 2023 to offer school groups the opportunity to enjoy fabulous film, and we will once again be screening at MAST - Mayflower Studios on Guildhall Square in Southampton.
The Into Film Festival is a free, annual, nationwide celebration of film & education for 5-19 year olds. It helps educators bring learning to life for 5-19 year olds across the UK by inspiring young people to watch, understand and make film in new and creative ways.
We are offering 2 films this year, The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023), with an age guide of 7-11 and Polite Society (2023) with an age guide of 11+

Ria Khan is an energetic teenage martial artist, desperate to meet her idol and follow her footsteps in becoming a world renowned stuntwoman. Her sister Lena, however, is struggling with her depression and lack of direction after dropping out of arts school that is until she meets the rich, handsome and charming Salim. Ria, surprised and a little jealous of Lena's new relationship, is immediately suspicious of Salim and is even more shocked when the new couple announce their engagement. Setting out to uncover what she believes to be a great conspiracy against her sister, Lena must use her martial arts skills and stay razor sharp as secrets are revealed. Showcasing a heady mix of Bollywood, action and comedy, Polite Society also reflects on sisterhood, tradition and forging your own path.
Taking place from 7-24 November, the Into Film Festival helps educators bring learning to life for 5-19 year olds across the UK by inspiring young people to watch, understand and make film in new and creative ways.
Into Film supports teachers and educators to achieve a wide range of effective learning outcomes in their use of film. Their programme includes the Into Film+ film streaming platform, a network of extra-curricular Into Film Clubs, resources for use in clubs or the classroom, face-to-face and online training opportunities, an annual cinema-based film festival and the prestigious Into Film Awards. The programme has been designed to meet the needs of all four nations in the UK.
